Our Story

2005

The Missionary

In 2005, the Plano Baptist Church, alongside numerous local pastors throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, united in prayerful support and commissioned a Missionary to embark on a transformative journey. His mission? To share the Gospel with Vietnamese people in Malaysia.

2005

Upon his arrival, the Missionary forged a powerful partnership with the local Chinese church, dedicated to reaching out to the Vietnamese community. Together, they established vibrant Worship and Bible study groups, fostering spiritual growth and community.

Over the years, the labor of love bore remarkable fruit. Thousands found solace and salvation in Christ, while a significant number of young workers embraced a higher calling, dedicating their lives to full-time service in God’s name. This journey continues to be a testament to the boundless impact of faith, unity, and unwavering dedication.

God's Calling

Oanh Troung Le visited Malaysia, where she witnessed the transformative work of God and felt an immediate calling to take action. From this experience, a vision emerged.

In the subsequent years, various programs were developed to offer both spiritual and tangible resources. A future objective is to further strengthen and expand these initiatives.

From Vision to Mission

Oanh felt led to start a non-profit organization that would focus on leading people to Jesus, teaching the Bible, and developing leaders to plant churches in Vietnam. This resulted in the creation of Muc Vu Vietnam (Mission For Vietnam)

Life Essentials Study Bible

In October 2019, Oanh obtained permission from the globally recognized pastor and author Gene Getz to bring her vision to life: translating the 1500 written Life Essentials Study Bible principles and commentaries, as well as adapting the 1500 educational videos with translation, subtitling, and voiceover into Vietnamese.

Subsequently, Bible Society Vietnam endorsed the project, providing wholehearted support for the partnership. This collaboration – their new Bible version and our Vietnamese principles – has given rise to what many describe as a “seminary-in-a-box,” catering to local pastors and leaders guiding communities with limited resources.

vietnam: a great place for missions

In Vietnam, people follow different religions or their own indigenous beliefs.

This diversity makes it a good place for discussions about different faiths, including Christianity.

Although there were restrictions in the past, things have gotten better, and missionaries now have more freedom to openly practice Christianity.

There are many opportunities for helping others through things like aid, education, and healthcare in areas that need it.

Vietnam is a great place for missionary work because people are open to different cultures and there’s a growing Christian community.

Your gift changes lives!

My name is Myuyen (Quinn) Cao.
I was born in Vietnam in 1967. My parents and I came to the United States when I was eight years old.

The Life Essentials Study Bible helped change my life when I needed it most. I was a single mom raising two boys. I was seeking to have a relationship with God but didn’t know how. I didn’t really understand the Gospel.

Then I faced the greatest crisis in my lifeMy oldest son took his own life. I was devastated. But then I discovered the Life Essentials Study Bible.

I began to study and understand God’s Word and it has changed my life forever. I’m very excited about Oanh’s vision. I want to do all I can to help get this Bible into the Vietnamese language! And, one of my greatest blessings has been to be a part of Pastor Gene’s class as he has taught and videotaped these “Principles to Live By.” Thank you, Pastor Gene, for allowing God to touch my life for eternity.
